Bruce is Dumbarton born and bred and has lived his whole life in the area. A qualified accountant, his career has mainly been in business and operational roles at the BBC.
"Dumbarton is uniquely situated in both its proximity to Glasgow and as the gateway to the Highlands - I believe we can do more to build on this location.
The Stathleven Foundation aims to help improve the quality of life of residents in the area through investing in the community. Of particular interest to me are environmental issues and improving cultural and leisure facilities in the area.
I look forward to hearing from everyone in the community as to how we can help make Dumbarton an even better place to live."
Jackie was elected to represent Dumbarton constituency in 1999. She is Scottish Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care and Drugs Policy. Jackie is also Deputy Leader of Scottish Labour.
Jackie was a founding member of Strathleven Regeneration Co., set up after Diageo pulled out of the J&B Bottling plant in Dumbarton.
Fiona recently volunteered to be part of Strathleven Foundation in April 2024. Having lived in Dumbarton her whole life and now working there, she has a vested interest in supporting her local community.
"I am very keen to support this charitable trust and contribute where possible to the success of the Foundation whilst making a difference in my home town."
John chose to be involved with the Strathleven Foundation through his past involvement with Strathleven Regeneration, but also a wish to see the Foundation put its funds to the best use for the local area and the people who live there.
"I have worked as an in-house solicitor for Chivas Brothers, a key local employer in the Vale of Leven, for 13 years and have been heavily involved in the expansion of the Kilmalid site during that time.”
David is a Dumbarton Councillor with a particular interest in the regeneration of our local area. Previously a Trustee on the Board for Strathleven Regeneration, he is committed to the Foundation exploring positive opportunities within our Area of Benefit.
A lifelong resident of the Vale of Leven, Michelle recently joined Strathleven Foundation in April 2024. As Deputy leader of West Dunbartonshire Council and representative of Leven, Michelle brings a wealth of experience to our Area of Benefit.
Allan is a resident of Dumbarton having moved here in 1998 with his wife and young family. A chartered surveyor, he spent 40 years in Scotland and overseas working on property and economic development and has a wide experience in regeneration.
Allan has been involved at Strathleven from the days of the J&B Task force and has been a Board member of Strathleven CIC since its inception - initially on behalf of Scottish Enterprise.
"I have charity trustee experience and look forward to adding value as the Foundation gets going and consider applications for assistance."
Paul volunteered to become part of the Strathleven Foundation as a continuation with his involvement with Strathleven Regeneration whose successful legacy has provided the opportunity for the Foundation to do good things in the area.
"My personal interest to be a part of this stems from working in manufacturing/engineering businesses in the Vale of Leven for twenty-two years, an industry that has always been important to the area, supported by the Dunbartonshire people who have always been important to its success.”
