Our Education Fund
Inspiring Change
Following on from the success of our Glencairn House funding, we wanted a quick and targeted approach to underline our commitment to inspiring young people in our community. In January 2026 we launched our Education Fund for schools within our Area of Benefit.
In total we awarded £112,370 to schools for trips, outdoor play areas and food and nutrition projects - just a few of the great application ideas we look forward to hearing about in the coming months.
School involvement
We invited schools in Dumbarton and the Vale of Leven to apply for up to £5000 for primary schools and up to £10,000 for secondaries. Schools could apply for help with extra-curricular activities which aligned with the priorities of the Foundation.
Making a Difference
The diversity of applications received was fantastic, with many schools highlighting the challenges pupils faced within their deprived catchment area. These awards will enable many children and young people to participate in inspiring experiences which otherwise would not be open to them in a safe, fun and inclusive environment.
